South Bend principals get pied for a good cause

SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- The principal and assistant principal of Marshall Intermediate Center participated in a donation drive that allowed students to throw cream pies at them, on Friday.

The "Pennies for Patients" donation drive was sponsors by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Indiana.

Each classroom participated in a challenge to raise the most money and the winning classroom got the privilege to cream their principals.

The rest of the classes got to witness the pie-ing

Jim Bowen, the schools principal said, "We thought there was only 1 pie, not 25.. actually, I think it was closer to 30."

The school raised over $1600 during the two week event which is twice the about they raised last year.
