South Bend residents looking for a homegrown Thanksgiving

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A homegrown Thanksgiving is on the menu for many local families.

Tuesday was a busy one for vendors at the South Bend Farmers' Market.

Shoppers turned out in droves to pick up fresh, traditional foods for Thanksgiving.

One vendor told ABC 57 items are going fast.

"This year we've got a few hundred sold today, and we'll have a few hundred sold tomorrow so they'll be a good six hundred birds that go through the market," said Michael Hiatt of Hiatt's Poultry.

Vendors say they expect it to be even busier Wednesday.

The South Bend Farmers' Market will be open Wednesday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
