South Bend security guard calls himself "police cowboy"

SOUTH BEND — A South Bend security guard takes his job very seriously.

Mack Jones says he loves keeping people safe and likes to look good while doing it.

This self-proclaimed police cowboy says the gas station where he works is usually busy, but during holidays it can get out of control.

"Some call me the police cowboy," said Jones. "I am down to earth, I am good people. And I've got a good heart."

Jones says he has seen many different types of crime in his line of work including shootings, stabbings and robberies.

Jones says his job is worth it because it makes South Bend a better, safer place.
