South Bend shooting under investigation Friday night

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Investigators are working to find the suspect in a shooting that happened Friday, Dec. 18 in South Bend.

According to officials with the South Bend Police Department, officers were called to the area of Lincolnway West and Brookfield around 7 p.m. where they found one person suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned the suspect could be inside a nearby home, possibly with a hostage, and the SWAT team and negotiators were called in.

Officials stayed on the scene for about two hours before entering the residence but no suspect was captured.
