South Bend Symphony performs at Four Winds Field with ‘Broadway Blockbusters!’
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Symphony Orchestra brought music to the ballpark Wednesday night with their performance of “Broadway Blockbusters!”
The performance was the first in the Symphony’s Indiana Trust Pops Series. The Series features the Symphony performing at Four Winds Field for three different concerts this summer.
"This is the first of the Pops Series, and it's our first time being at the field in a long time, so it's exciting for that reason,” said Justus Zimmerman, Executive Director of the SBSO. “And the Four Winds Field for us is the perfect venue, the price point for the ticket is low, you can get family friendly food for everybody or you can get beer! It's really a great place for anybody to come down and take in the symphony in an unpretentious place."
The concert was the first time the Symphony has performed at the ballpark since 2008.
Zimmerman said the performances at Four Winds Field gives the Symphony the opportunity to play for an audience that might not usually be able to come out to see the orchestra.
If you missed Wednesday night’s performance, you still have two more chances to catch the Symphony at Four Winds Field.
The Symphony will perform the music of Queen on June 19, followed by their Patriotic Pops Season Finale on July 1, complete with fireworks and a salute to the armed forces.
