South Bend Transpo announces transportation changes for Garth Brooks concert
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Public Transportation Corporation or Transpo has announced detours and adjustments for the upcoming Garth Brooks concert at the University of Notre Dame.
Transpo has released the following information regarding the adjustments:
#5 North Michigan – Buses will bypass Saint Mary’s College starting with the 2:20 p.m. departure from South Street Station. The 3:20 p.m., 4:20 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. trips will be canceled.
#7 Notre Dame / UP Mall – Buses will bypass Notre Dame starting with the 10:20 a.m. departure from South Street Station. This detour will continue for the remainder of the service day. The following detours will also be in place:
Outbound – From LaSalle Ave, left on Eddy St to SR 23 to University Park Mall
Inbound – From University Park Mall, left on SR 23 to Eddy St, right on Colfax Ave resuming the regular route
#7A Midnight Express – Service will begin at approximately 1:45 a.m. Service could be delayed based on traffic patterns and congestion.
#13 Corby / Town & Country – Buses will be detoured beginning with the 10:20 a.m. departure from South Street Station:
Outbound: From Hill St, right on South Bend Ave, left on SR 23, right on Edison Rd resuming the regular route
Inbound: From Corby Blvd, left on SR 23, right on South Bend Ave (at Campeau St), left on Hill St resuming the regular route
#17 The Sweep – The Sweep will not run on Saturday, October 20
Transpo suggested that the best travel options will be #7 Notre Dame / UP Mall as passengers can request a stop along SR 23 between Eddy St and Twyckenham Dr or #13 Corby / Town & Country at Corby Blvd and SR 23 and then walk to campus.
Transpo’s Information Line is available at 574-233-2131 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays to assist with route information.
