South Bend woman charged, arrested after fleeing accident

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. – A woman was arrested and charged for allegedly smoking marijuana prior to operating a vehicle and fleeing the scene of an accident, police say.

At approximately 1:02 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department was conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 20 in Shipshewana, Indiana.

Authorities say they motorist Jamie R. Parker of South Bend, Indiana fled the scene of an accident.

The investigation further revealed that Parker allegedly possessed marijuana and had been smoking it prior to driving, officers say.

Parker was arrested and charged with Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated — Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
