SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- City leaders want the public's input on what they want to see in the city over the next two decades.
On Thursday the official kickoff for the 2045 plan was held at the Technical Resource Center in Ignition Park.
Residents who came out said they want to see neighborhoods revitalized, more restaurant and entertainment choices, more walkability and a stronger school system.
Elected officials where also at the meeting discussing big concepts and visions for the city.
“We’re excited because, after many decades of decline, after Studebaker left town, we are now a city that believes in ourselves once again," said Mayor James Mueller. "And now we’re looking toward these next 20 years to continue our growth and make sure south bend is back on the map.”
“20 years from now, the stuff that we’re talking about today, or starting this process, will be what we eventually see.” Said First District Councilman, Canneth Lee.
