South Bend's mayor issues parking restrictions

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On ABC57 News at 5, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg announced snow removal crews will start plowing neighborhood streets on Wednesday, but that also means some parking restrictions.

"As long as there are cars parked on the street, they're not going to be able to finish the job. So we're enacting the emergency snow conditions. We're going to have cars parked on some streets at time. Tomorrow residents should not park on east-west streets. Keep those clear. We'll get those plowed. The next day, Thursday, it'll be the other way around -stay off those north-south streets," said Buttigieg.

The mayor also urged homeowners to begin clearing sidewalks so kids can walk safety to school when South Bend schools reopen.
