South Bend's west side hosting their first holiday festival Saturday

'Tis the season! Holiday celebrations are happening all across Michiana and today, South Bend’s West Side is hosting their own.

The businesses are hosting “Holidays on the West Side” and the event will have everything that the whole family can enjoy.

This past July, they hosted their first ever ‘West Side Wednesday’ festival and it attracted thousands. Since it was so successful, they decided to bring it back before the end of the year.

‘West Side Wednesday’ started as a lunch meetup. They wanted to expand the concept further.

“We’re really excited to be able to be bringing this to the community once again,” said Julian Alcantar, a West Side business owner.

All Saturday’s festivities are free.

“We will have free cookie decorating, there will be free photos with Santa and there will also be free Christmas ornaments,” Alcantar said.

There will also be a holiday bazaar, art in Gallery 2910, food specials at local restaurants and music.

It all begins at 12 P.M. and goes until 4 P.M.
