South Shore passengers to be bussed between Indiana stations starting Sept. 23

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Shore Line announced on Wednesday morning that passengers headed east will be bussed between the Miller, Portage/Ogden Dunes, and Dune Park station.  

"In order to accommodate INDOT bridge construction near South Shore Line tracks in Portage, the SSL will provide busing substitution for eastbound train passengers between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 27, at Miller, Portage/Ogden Dunes, and Dune Park stations," SSL officials said.

Impacted trains:

  • Weekday eastbound trains 33, 133, 35, and 101
  • Weekend eastbound train 601 early morning Sept. 28

Officials say buses will arrive and depart with passengers to match the SSL published train schedule between Miller, Portage/Ogden Dunes, and Dune Park stations and that passengers on Tr 33, Tr 133, Tr 35 & Tr 101/601 will detrain at Miller Station to board buses for their destination stations, or re-board South Shore Line trains at Dune Park.

The bussing is expected to conclude on Friday, Sept. 27.
