1 killed in train, vehicle collision
Porter County, Ind. – South Shore train service has resumed after a collision occurred between a train and a vehicle.
All train service is currently stopped west of Ogden Dunes due to a train/vehicle collision. Estimated time of delay for all trains is at least 30-60 minutes.

According to affiliates, a spokesperson with the South Shore train confirmed an eastbound train struck a vehicle at County Line Road just west of Ogden Dunes Tuesday evening.
The commuter train was heading from Chicago to South Bend at the time of the crash.
Gary Police confirm at approximately 5:30 p.m. the driver of the pick-up truck allegedly drove around the safety gates at County Line Road.
An unidentified person was killed in the vehicle. There are currently no reports of any additional injuries.
Trains were delayed for approximately 90 minutes and stopped in both directions following the accident.
