Special prosecutor to investigate Davis traffic stop

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate the events surrounding the traffic stop of Henry Davis Jr. and his father, Henry Davis Sr. on October 22 in South Bend.

St. Joseph County Prosecutor Michael Dvorak petitioned the court on Thursday to have a special prosecutor review the October 22 incident where South Bend Police ticketed Davis Jr and arrested Davis Sr on reckless driving charges.

The special prosecutor was requested to determine whether there was any impropriety in the traffic stops and whether or not there is sufficient evidence to charge Davis Jr or Davis Sr with any criminal offenses or traffic infractions.

The order was granted and Michael McAlexander, Chief Deputy Prosecuting attorney for the 38th Judicial Circuit of Indiana, was assigned to the cases.
