Special viewing of Perseids Meteor Shower at Elkhart County Parks

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – Visitors will be able to see the Perseids Meteor Shower at a special event held at Elkhart County Parks.

On Sunday, Aug. 12 at Briar Patch Shelter in Bonneyville Mill County Park a viewing party will be held to observe the Perseids meteor shower.

Attendees will be given the chance to see the spectacular, annual meteor shower.

Interpretive naturalists will provide telescopes for those wishing to see more than the meteor shower.

“On a clear night you could see up to 80 meteors per hour at its peak,” said Park Naturalist Krista Daniels.

Participants will be given open space to place lawn chairs or spread a blanket for viewing.

Light refreshments will also be offered at this fun event.

The event lasts from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
