ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – Officials say that a serious crash involving three semi-trucks took place in the eastbound lanes of State Road 2 near Quince Road at around 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
According to officials, two semi-trucks were stopped at a red light when a third semi-truck crashed into the rear end of one of the semis, causing a chain reaction crash.
The drivers of the two semis stopped at the light are okay, but the third driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being safely extracted from the wrecked semi.
An investigation is underway by the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team in St. Joseph County due to the seriousness of the injuries.
