ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners hosted its second annual Commissioners Awards Recognition banquet Tuesday evening.
The event celebrated 2022 Commissioners Award winners, including businesses residents and the St. Joseph County Employee of the Month.
"This is a yearly event we do out of the Commissioner's Office monthly, we honor a US citizen business and employee of the month," said Derek Dieter, St. Joseph County Commissioner for District 2. "And this is a culmination that everybody's won throughout the year. And then we pick the yearly winner. So, it's a good bank, we've got 175 people here, Polish dinner. So, it's a good time for everybody to get together and see what everyone else has done. And we, the elected officials, honoring the people for doing the good stuff in the community."
"I think we need to honor businesses and individuals in St. Joe County to maintain the culture of who we are," said U.S. Representative Rudy Yakym. "We need to recognize people who are doing great things within our community. And so it's appropriate that we have a packed house here tonight."
