St. Joseph County Health Department offering free flu shots

The St. Joseph County Health Department is offering free flu shots for the first 100 residents that request one.

Currently, nine people have died of flu-related deaths in St. Joseph County alone this season, which is why the Health Department wants all residents to be immunized to protect themselves against the virus.

Residents three-years-old and older can get a flu shot at any St. Joseph County Health Department locations.

The South Bend location at 227 West Jefferson Boulevard on the 9th floor of the County-City Building is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Mishawaka clinic location on 219 Lincolnway West is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The free shots will only be available while supplies last, and if you are interested, you are asked to call the Immunization Division at 574-235-6656 to make sure there are still shots left.
