St. Joseph County Library still working on re-opening date

The St. Joseph County Library announced on Tuesday it will not be reopening on May 4.

The current stay at home order from the governor expires on May 1, unless it is extended. Library administrators plan to provide an update after the governor makes a decision about the stay at home orders.

Even though the library is not open, they are working on ways to provide access to books and other non-digital materials soon.

Until the library reopens, you can access the library's services in many ways:

  • Chat with a librarian by calling 574-282-4646, Monday-Saturday, 10am-6pm.
  • Make a 1-on-1 appointment to get help with government forms or ask questions about resources by calling the virtual reference desk at 574-282-4646, or emailing [email protected],
  • WiFi is available in the parking lot of all library branches except the Main Library and Keller Park.
  • You can access the digital collection on the SJCPL website and can connect with the library on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

Due dates for all library materials already checked out have been extended to May 15.
