St. Joseph County man arraigned on murder and firearm charges

ST. JOSEPH CO., Ind. -- A man St. Joseph County man accused of killing his brother and sister-in-law appeared in court on Monday afternoon.

Police said 41-year-old Steven Clippinger went to his brother's house in Mishawaka on Saturday, then shot and killed him in the driveway.

Police said he then chased his sister-in-law inside and shot and killed her too.

Officers told us Clippinger got upset when his brother tried taking his gun away from him. He's not supposed to have one, since he's a convicted felon.

Clippinger already served 20 years for killing a South Bend man.

He is now charged with two counts of murder and one count of being a serious felon in possession of a firearm.

He is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail without bond. Clippinger will appear in court next on June 18 at 9 a.m., before Judge Jerome Frese.
