St. Joseph County Police holding Drug Take Back Day on April 27

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—The St. Joseph County Police Department, in partnership with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, will take back unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday, April 27 at the St. Joseph County Jail.

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on April 27, people can bring pills to the jail, located at 401 W. Sample St., for disposal. Liquids, needles, and sharped will not be accepted, only pills and patches.

The service is free and anonymous.

The event is the 17th opportunity in nine years put on to prevent pill abuse and theft of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

During the 16 previous Take Back events, the DEA and its partners have taken in nearly 11 million pounds of pills.
