St. Joseph County Police officers attend memorial service in Washington DC

Officers with the St. Joseph County Police Department attended the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.

The event, hosted by the National Fraternal Order of Police and the Auxiliary, is honoring more than 200 police officers that have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The event falls in the middle of the 2019 National Police Week, which runs from May 12 to May 18.
