ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The St. Joseph County VA Clinic accepted an $11,000 donation Wednesday from the 2021 Memorial Day Murph fundraiser.
The May 29 event, put on by the St. Joseph County Metro SWAT Team and the Mishawaka Parks and Recreation Department, was held in memory of Lieutenant Michael Murphy, a retired U.S. Navy Seal who died in 2005.
“This donation will help tremendously, all the veterans from this location on any type of support they need. So this is the largest donation we’ve actually ever had,” said Eddie Anjos, Clinic Operation Director of the St. Joseph County VA.
The VA services in St. Joseph County serve about 10,000 veterans locally, offering primary care and special services like on-site physicians and food banks to help those in need.
