St. Patrick's Day celebrations continue in Michiana
The St. Patrick’s Day festivities continue throughout this weekend with family events, live music and parades.
The first event starts right at 9 a.m. on Saturday. It’ll be at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in South Bend.
At 10:30 a.m. there will be a little leprechaun contest at Howard Park. This is for children from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7. Participants should dress the part and be prepared to dance and Irish Jig.
Each contestant will receive a small gift for participating, but one boy and one girl from each age category will receive a $25 gift certificate.
Then shortly after at 11 a.m. the 19th Annual St. Patrick’s Day parade will begin on Jefferson and Frences. It’s set to be about 2 hours long.
On Saturday, the Stampede String Band will be playing at 9 p.m. at Fiddler’s Hearth Public House.
