State Secretary warns business of scam letter

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Secretary of State is warning business owners of a scam involving a letter that appears to come from the state.
The state said the letter looks like it is from the Business Services Division.
But the state warns the letter is a scam.
The letter asks for a $125 payment for record keeping and processing company minutes. It also includes a "return by" date.
The state said that more than 100 businesses fell victim to a similar scam in 2008.
