State university leaders being criticized for college tuition hike

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-State university leaders faced criticism over recent tuition hikes.


 Lawmakers say they're upset over the rise in tuition rates for the current school year. In-state tuition has risen to a stunning 122 percent, in the last 11 years.


IU Bloomington and Purdue West Lafayette are among the schools under question. The Higher Ed Commission recommended 3.5 percent tuition hikes. Several schools opted for hikes as high as 5 and a half percent, in the last year.
