FBI involved in search for missing 11-month-old

PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- The FBI is now involved in the search for 11-month-old Mercedes Lain, who is the subject of a statewide Silver Alert.

Lain was last seen on Thursday, August 12 and was believed to be with Justin Lee Miller.

Miller was located in Starke County with his car, but Lain was not with him, according to Plymouth Police Chief David Bacon.

Miller is in custody and is facing a preliminary charge of neglect of a dependent.

The FBI child abduction rapid deployment team is involved in the investigation.

Lain is two feet tall, 19 pounds, has blond hair and brown eyes. 

Lain is believed to be in extreme danger and might need medical assistance.
