SOUTH BEND, Ind.—St. Margaret’s House hosted their 20th annual Winter Walk fundraiser Sunday afternoon.
“Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” was an event to help raise awareness for women and children in need, especially those who brave harsh weather conditions to receive aid.
"I have talked in St Mary’s-- Notre Dame-- Radio stations because I am reaching out to other women to let them know anybody who knew me when I was suffering there is some help and you can start right here,” said Mary Hicks, a member of St. Margaret's House.
St. Margaret’s House helps meet the immediate need of impoverished women and children.
The event raised $55,000 of their $80,000 goal.
