Storms arrive this evening, Snow Monday morning

ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast

Sunday, March 15th, 2025

A Wind Advisory is in effect until midnight as southerly winds will continue to be breezy through the afternoon and evening. Wind gusts cold reach and possibly exceed 50 mph.

The biggest threat, however, is the line of storms arriving later tonight. Some areas of Michiana are seeing scattered showers this afternoon; but widespread showers/storms arrive at 7pm. THE line of strong storms will move in around the 10PM hour. The primary threat is damaging straight-line winds, but a spin up tornado cannot be ruled out. Showers/storms will continue to track east in the overnight hours, the storm threat ending at 1AM.

Rain showers pass the baton snow showers early Monday morning as a strong cold front plows through, rapidly dropping temperatures. A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from beginning MON 8 AM - TUE 11 AM for the following counties: Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph MI, Northern LaPorte, St. Joseph IN, Elkhart and LaGrange. Areas in the Lake Effect Snow region will likely see more than 3 inches snowfall through TUE AM. Areas further away from the lake will receive less. However, winds will be breezy and blowing snow will likely impact all of Michiana—making travel difficult due to low visibility. Roads will likely be slick and messy as temperatures continue to fall, making the ground colder. Tuesday morning lows will reach the teens, with wind chills near zero.

After another chance of snow WED AM, conditions become much calmer with mild conditions for the second half of the week.

Tonight: Widespread storms, rain into snow in the early AM. Low 28.

Monday: Widespread snow, gusty, frigid. PM Lake effect snow. High 30.

Tuesday: AM lake effect snow, gusty, bitterly cold. High 24.

Wednesday: AM snow showers, some clearing by afternoon. High 42.
