ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Saturday, August 16, 2025
This afternoon's heat and humidity will help fuel tonight's storms. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has added counties near the shoreline (Berrien, LaPorte, western half of St. Joseph, IN, and most of Starke) in a 2/5 risk for severe weather tonight. The main risks are still strong wind gusts and periods of heavy rain.
The arrival time of these storms is still in question, though there is confidence that they will arrive after midnight. We will keep the timing of the storms between 12 AM - 6 AM, as models are suggesting. However, it all is contingent on how storms evolve west of us.
If storms do develop tonight, they could help to push to the warm, moist air southward, making Sunday a little less hot and drier. This, again, depends on how storms perform tonight. Hot and humid conditions linger into the early next week, as do daily precipitation chances. By Wednesday, some much need relief awaits as near normal temperatures settle in.
Tonight: Possible widespread storms. Low 70.
Sunday: AM showers/storms, then partly sunny, hot and humid. High 90.
Monday: Hot and humid. Chance for scattered PM T-storms. High 89.
Tuesday: AM showers. Stray storm possible. Warm and humid. High 86.
