NORTH LIBERTY, Ind. -- Ziegler’s U-Pick Strawberries opens for the season today! You can walk the rows of bushes and pick a box of Michiana grown strawberries. The box weighs about 5-6 lbs and costs $17, the farm accepts cash or check.
Although it’s been a dry growing season, Jon Ziegler, the owner of the farm, says the strawberries are bigger and more numerous than ever due to a new irrigation system installed this year. This system can also make some strawberry rows a bit muddy, so you’ll want to bring an older pair of shoes.
The farm is open from 8am-6pm daily. Ziegler estimates the picking season should last about 3 weeks.
