Streetlights come on along Bittersweet Road bridge

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - The streetlights are slowly coming back on along the bridge on Bittersweet Road near Penn High School.

The improvement comes after ABC57 News spoke to neighbors who shared their concerns about the lights, some of which were flickering and some completely out.

According to neighbors and businesses in the area, the bridge sees traffic both from residents and students traveling to and from Penn and the nearby library.

Sky Medors, St. Joseph County Engineer, said the county has a contract with Michiana Contracting to fix the LED lights, and that repairs have taken long because of long lead times on materials.
