Strong storms cause many power outages throughout Michiana

Tuesday’s early morning storms caused many power outages in the Michiana area.

Indiana Michigan Power reports power outages in St. Joseph, Indiana at over 800, 150 in Cass County, about 1,300 in Van Buren County, over 100 in St. Joseph County, Michigan, and 260 in Berrien County.

Crews are working to restore power to all of the areas.

The Midwest Energy Cooperative in the Southwest Michigan is also reporting transmission has been lost to two substations, leaving over 4,000 in the dark primarily Cass and Van Buren Counties.
