Student allegedly brought gun to school

SOUTH BEND -- A student at South Bend’s Marquette Elementary School is facing disciplinary action for allegedly bringing a pellet gun to school.

On Monday, a fourth grade student went to his teacher and told her a classmate had brought something that should not be in the school.

South Bend Police responded and searched the school.

They found a pellet gun in a student’s locker.

Police removed both the gun and the student from the school.

Parents were notified of the incident through a letter sent home with students.
