Student arrested after threat made against Concord High School
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.—One student was arrested on Friday morning after a threat was made against Concord High School on social media on Thursday night.
A social media post that threatened a “potentially violent incident” was found by school administrators on Thursday night.
According to the school, the post originated from a student’s personal account.
At 6:25 a.m. on Friday, Concord Community Schools Police Department officers arrived at the student’s home to speak with the student and parents.
Police then arrested the unidentified student, who is a juvenile.
Following an investigation, officers deemed the threat not credible.
The school said in a statement posted to their website on Friday that the threat “is believed to be an isolated incident.”
Classes will continue as scheduled on Friday at Concord High School.
In the statement, the school encourages parents and students to “see something, say something” if they come across anything concerning.
