Student shot in head walks at graduation

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- A student who was shot at a party was able to walk for his graduation.

The senior at a Michigan high school tried to break up a fight at a party when he was shot in the head.

He was once an honor student, star football player, and senior class president but he was not able to return to school because of his injuries.

At his school's graduation he surprised his classmates by walking onto the stage. There was not a dry eye at the ceremony.

"I just want to thank god! It is great to be alive," said Balaal Hollings, class president.

He actually had enough credits to graduate and was able to graduate with the rest of his class.
