Students raise money for Oklahoma victims
NILES, Mich. -- Several Niles students are pitching in to do their part for Oklahoma tornado victims.
ABC57 caught up with the Eastside 3rd and 4th graders Thursday. They made products in class to sell at the Niles French market.
All of the proceeds will go to help those affected by Monday's tornado.
Their teacher says it is a great learning experience.
"We take what we need to learn and weave the learning into actual projects that involve real world experiences like coming to the Farmer's Market. So, it's really a fun way to learn and apply what you know," said Brenda Brown, teacher at Eastside Elementary.
The Niles market will be open every Thursday and Saturday through Labor Day.
