Sturgis man arrested on multiple charges following pursuit

STURGIS, Mich. -- A Sturgis man was arrested after police were called to a business to investigate suspicious activity, according to Sturgis Police.

Around 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sturgis Police were dispatched to a business in the 900 block of Progress Street for a suspicious person.

Officers located the subject and stopped to question him, but he fled from police.

The man, a 24-year-old from Sturgis, was taken into custody following a pursuit.

The suspect is being held on preliminary charges of possession of meth, possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, flee and elude, resisting and obstructing, assault on a police officer and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
