A submerged car was pulled from the St. Joseph River Monday afternoon just off Merrifield Park.
Members of the St. Joseph County Police Department dive team assisted Mishawaka Police in recovering the four door passenger vehicle.
The car appeared to be covered in sediment.
Photos of the car after it was brought on shore showed it appears to be white or light colored.
The Department of Natural Resources has taken over the investigation and will examine the car to determine how and why it ended up in the river.
