‘Substantial amount of cocaine’ seized on Indiana Toll Road

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. – The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office’s Domestic Highway Enforcement arrested a driver and seized cocaine during a traffic stop on the Indiana Toll Road Wednesday, according to reports. 

Andre D. McCoy 61, of Cleveland, Ohio was pulled over for a traffic infraction by Deputy Samuelson.

As the traffic stop progressed, K9 Bosco did a free-air sniff search, where K9 Bosco provided a positive alert and a specific area of the vehicle, according to deputies.

A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a “substantial amount of cocaine” and a large amount of cash according to deputies.

McCoy was arrested and preliminarily charged with dealing in cocaine, a level two felony.

He was transported to the La Porte County Jail where he is being held on a $50,005.00 cash-only bond.
