Howard Park was packed Monday evening, with many kids on their first day of summer vacation flocking to a staple summer spot: the splash pad.
Plenty of sunshine and highs in the 80s made Monday feel like the middle of the season rather than the start of it. However, you won't have much time to take advantage of the summer-like weather across Michiana.
After temperatures make a run at 90 Tuesday, cooler and more spring-like weather will move in for the second half of the week. That includes thunderstorm chances on Wednesday and lower humidity for the second half of the week, too.
In fact, the Climate Prediction Center suggests Michiana will likely experience below normal temperatures for most of the first part of June. Typically, highs make it into the upper 70s with lows in the upper 50s to start the month.
Make sure you remember the sunscreen if you are planning some outdoor fun!
