ELKHART, Ind. --Putting student safety first!
Summer's Spotlight wanted to highlight the advocacy work Child & Parent Advocates, Rachel Van Alstine and Leatra Scott, are doing for Elkhart Community Schools students.
Learn what the ECS Parent Coalition has in store ahead of the summer and their mission of advocacy year-round.
To kick start the summer, you can head to the Hawthorne Early Learning Center in Elkhart from 11 AM to 1 PM for the first ever, outdoor Wellness Fun Fair!
Families are invited out to learn what resources and programs are available to connect students year-round.
If you look below, you can see some of the local parents and advocates from the coalition advocating for the recently passed House Bill 1438. The bill's working to address bullying in the classroom and at home through mandated reporting protocols.
