Starke County face-to-face with severe weather
ELKHART, Ind. -- With spring approaching, drive-in season is starting as well. Several local drive-ins are opening across Michiana, including the Simonton Lake Drive-In, which will open for its 62nd season Tuesday in Elkhart. The drive-in features fried food and its own homemade root beer.
On Monday, ABC57's Summer Horan spoke with Jason Hoff, the drive-in's third-generation owner, and Sabra Reingardt, a carhop and manager that started working at Simonton Lake Drive-In in 2004. They discussed the restaurant's plans for the year over a few pints of root beer.
