Sun King Brewery to open new tap room in Mishawaka
MISHAWAKA, Ind.—Sun King Brewery announced Tuesday that it plans to open a new tap room in Mishawaka.
The tap room is set to open during the summer of 2022 at The Mill at Ironworks Plaza, which is located at 235 Ironworks Avenue.
The new Mishawaka location will be the brewery’s sixth tap room in Indiana and first in the northern part of the state.
A variety of Sun King’s core, seasonal, specialty, barrel-aged and sour beers will be available at the tap room once it opens.
Carry-out cans, growlers and kegs will also be available for purchase.
The tap room’s food hall, done in partnership with Indianapolis restaurateur Neal Brown and Howe and Brown Hospitality Group, will feature food items like smash burgers and tacos to be enjoyed inside the tap room or outside on the patio.
The roughly 5,000-square-foot space will be family-friendly, except for the bar area.
Dave Colt, Sun King’s co-founder and owner, grew up in South Bend.
“My family and friends from the area have been asking me for years when Sun King will open a location in Northern Indiana,” Colt said in a press release. “We are excited to expand access to our delicious beers to our great fans up north and to be a part of the Mishawaka community and The Mill at Ironworks Plaza.”
