SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department is reporting a suspect has been arrested following an ongoing investigation surrounding drug activity at a business on South Bend’s northwest side.
On Tuesday, the SBPD’s Strategic Focus Unit executed search warrants at a car wash and a vehicle in the 1300 block of Lincoln Way West.
"Through the investigation, officers recovered suspected methamphetamine, THC chews, hydrocodone, prescription antibiotic pills and other paraphernalia," the SBPD said.
As a result, 47-year-old Scott Byrd, of South Bend, was arrested and transported to the St. Joseph County Jail on preliminary charges related to drug and paraphernalia possession.
He is currently awaiting a formal charging decision from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
Members of the South Bend Police Department’s SWAT team also responded to assist in executing the search warrants.
