Suspects shoot into home, injure man

MASON TOWNSHIP, Mich.— Deputies with the Cass County Sheriff's Office were called to the home of an Edwardsburg resident early Saturday morning to investigate a shooting.

Authorities say a 57-year-old man was in his home on Starbrick St. near Tharp Lake Rd. when unknown individuals demanded to talk to him. The homeowner refused to exit his home.

Around midnight, the suspects began firing their guns into the home through the window, injuring the homeowner.

The victim was transported to the Elkhart General Hospital where he remains in stable condition as of 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The incident remains under investigation.
