SWAT situation in South Bend resolved

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -

South Bend Police and SWAT went to a residence in the area of Walsh Street and E. Madison Street Monday morning searching for a person related to an armed robbery in Elkhart County.

Police surrounded a home and repeatedly asked the person to come out.

At one point, they placed a phone inside the residence on E. Madison Street and asked the person to answer the phone.

Around 12:40 p.m. police cleared the scene because the suspect was not in the residence. Police said a woman and a man were in the house but not the person they were trying to locate.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department was also on scene. They have not released the name of the person who was the subject of the incident.
