SWAT team arrests 8 in drug ring

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Eight-people connected to a Mishawaka drug ring are behind bars.

A special narcotic unit has been investigating the home on Main and 6th Street for weeks.

Thursday morning, the special operations team came out for more surveillance. When the target of that investigation left in a car, they moved in.

Two-nearby schools were put on lockdown and the SWAT Team was called.

"We found a couple handguns, an SKS type assault rifle, some crack cocaine, and heroine," said Lieutenant Dave Ryans.

Officers told ABC 57 those who wanted drugs would walk to the back door, knock, and go right in. They say it was an easy bust.
