SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A South Bend teenager has been charged with voluntary manslaughter for the death of 17-year-old D’Angelo Jennings.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor office stated they have probable cause to believe that Torreay Fennessee, 18, shot and killed Jennings.
The South Bend Police Department found Jennings with a gunshot to the head inside a home on North Johnson Street shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday.
Police stated that Fennessee and Jennings had a disagreement and guns were involved, but were advised to handle the situation by going outside to fist fight rather than using guns.
A witness told the police that after the fight the two shook hands and went back inside. That was when Fennessee got up and shot Jennings.
Court documents state that witnesses heard a game of dice being played right before the gunshot.
After the gunshot everyone ran from the home.
Police located Fennessee hiding in a relative's home on Friday and was transported to the Metro Homicide Unit for interviews.
According to officials, he admitted to shooting Jennings after several altercations.
