Teen charged in murder of Elkhart teen

ELKHART, Ind. — Prosecutors have charged a teen in the shooting death of another Elkhart teen.
On Wednesday, prosecutors in Elkhart charged Jesus Perez, 16, with the murder of 16-year-old Braxton Barhams.
Officials are also looking to add criminal gang enhancement to the charges.
Officers say Barhams was shot in the stomach on June 22 near Garfield Avenue. He later died at Elkhart General.
