Teen crashes tractor into ditch

South Bend, Indiana --  A tractor plowed into a ditch, sending one teen to the hospital. The teenager was taken the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend.

According to police, the 17-year old was doing some late night farm work when his tractor toppled over and landed in a ditch.

Original calls to dispatch included a request for a Med-flight (helicopter)  to get him to the hospital as fast as possible. Emergency crews said that the injuries were minor compared to what they were expecting.

The teen did get stuck between the steering counsel and the seat. The Madison Township fire department also responded to the accident.
